Wellbeing

At The Entrance Public School, we take a whole school, proactive approach to student wellbeing. We are committed to creating a safe, consistent and supportive environment where all students are set up to succeed — academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our BRACE Framework

Our wellbeing approach is guided by the BRACE Framework, which stands for: Belonging – Every student is known and connected within a caring school community. Routines – Predictable structures help students feel safe and prepared to learn. Attachment – Strong relationships between students and staff are prioritised. Capacity – Students are explicitly taught the emotional, social and behavioural skills they need. Emotions – Emotional regulation and resilience are built through direct instruction and support.

This framework surrounds and supports all our wellbeing and behaviour practices, helping students feel safe, connected, and capable. It is visually represented across our school and understood by both staff and students.

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

At the core of our wellbeing model is Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL). Our three core expectations — Safe, Respectful, Engaged — are explicitly taught, modelled, and positively reinforced across all classrooms and playgrounds. Students learn structured routines and self talk strategies that guide behaviour in all settings.

Tiered Wellbeing Support

We implement a three tiered model of support to meet the needs of all learners:
