Rules and policies are in place to make sure your child remains safe and well at school.
Visit the NSW Department of Education’s policy library for all current operational policies.
Our school uses the department's School Community Charter to ensure all of our communication is collaborative and respectful.
Students must attend school regularly so they can achieve their educational best and increase their career and life options.
In NSW, all children from the age of 6 are legally required to attend school or be registered for home schooling through the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). All students must complete Year 10, or its equivalent and remain in school, employment or training until they turn 17.

Be at School Everyday (BaSE) Attendance Initiative
The Be at School Everyday (BaSE) Attendance Initiative is The Entrance PS initiative developed in response to poor attendance patterns and its impact. Introducing the initiative, we want to ensure that student attendance levels are at or above benchmark, to provide and instill positive learning behaviours and success for all students. 2023 sees BaSE reintroduced with improvements to monitoring, supporting and communicating student attendance across the school. Shared accountability for student attendance is dispersed across all our school community including, school executive, classroom teachers, administration staff, Student Learning and Support Officers, parents/carers and most importantly students themselves.
As well as following the department’s operational policies, we have developed frameworks for our students in line with our school’s values and commitments.

Together we gather each day on Darkinjung Country, to share knowledge and experiences, as the Elders of this land have done for thousands of years before us. We pay our respect to those Elders and extend that respect to all Elders of the present, including those emerging. As we learn and play together, we acknowledge all Aboriginal people who participate and contribute to the knowledge and experiences we share each day at The Entrance Public School.
